Load data from PalantirCASH ax

The following procedure is used to load data from CASH ax:

  1. In the Load Data workspace, click on the arrow under the Add button The Add button on the ribbon and select the PalantirCASH ax option. A new data source will be added and the CASH ax loading screen will be displayed. For information about the screen elements, see CASH ax™ loading screen. You can combine data from different sources by using groups (see Data source groups).
  2. The Start Year and Duration fields determine the time frame for which the data will be loaded; if projects span a longer period, the data outside of this time frame will be discarded.
  3. Importing from CASH ax requires a mapping template; templates determine which values in imported files correspond to destination variables and settings. Select or create a template by clicking on Select button or New Template button on the right-hand side of the screen. For information about how to create a template, see CASH ax™ mapping template.

Note: The currently used template is part of the PLAN document; if you send this document to a colleague, for example, the template will be sent with it. You can also save templates as files on your computer (referred to as local templates).

  1. In the Select Analysis Data File field, select the CASH ax file from which you want to load data. To load data from multiple files, create more data sources. If you select a different analysis later, click on the Refresh button to update the screen.
  2. Click on the Add button The Add button. The Specify Result Sets and Scenarios table will show the first available Result Set. Click on the Name cell to select a different Result Set. You can load from several Result Sets at once by adding them here.
  3. In the Specify Result Sets and Scenarios table, specify settings for project and price scenarios. For information about how they work, see CASH ax™ loading screen.
  4. Projects from the selected Result Set will be automatically shown in the Select Projects table. Select projects to load by checking boxes next to their names. If you have added several Result Sets, this list will show projects from all of them. If a project is included into more than one Result Set, it will be shown on the list only once and its data will be loaded from the first Result Set which has values for all variables linked in the mapping template.
  5. To check whether data sources have errors, click on the Validate button The Validate button on the ribbon. If errors or warnings are found, a message will be displayed and the data source icon will change to Errors icon or Warnings icon respectively.
  6. Click on the Load button The Load button on the ribbon. The progress will be shown in a pop-up dialog. You can cancel loading at any time by clicking on the Cancel button in the dialog.
  7. If loading finished successfully, the Analyze Portfolio workspace will be opened. If there are warnings or errors, click on the View Log button The View Log button on the ribbon to check the log file.
